De Synthese van Yoga - Inleiding

Nederlandse vertaling van de Inleiding tot de ‘Synthesis of Yoga’, van Sri Aurobindo.

De Synthese van Yoga verscheen tussen Augustus 1914 en Januari 1921 in het maandblad ‘Arya” en werd onmiddellijk voor verschijning door Sri Aurobindo geschreven. De Inleiding erop, hier in een Nederlandse vertaling, vormt een afgerond geheel van vijf hoofdstukken dat zijn grondgedachten over Yoga goed weergeeft. Deze Inleiding verscheen in de eerste uitgave van de ‘Arya’ op 15 Augustus 1915 en werd voltooid op 15 Januari 1915. Hij maakte 25 à 30 jaar later een enigszins herziene versie.

Aan de Nederlandse vertaling zijn een aantal voetnoten toegevoegd om de gebruikte Sanskriet terminologie nader toe te lichten.

It was first published in 1953 and reissued in 1956. In 1991 the text was reproduced as the first part of Commentaries on “Elements of Yoga” by the Mother. Elements of Yoga is now being issued independently again in a second edition.
