Er is een Inleiding, “De Voorwaarden van de Synthese”, en vier delen: “De Yoga van Goddelijke Werken”, “De Yoga van Integrale Kennis”, “De Yoga van Goddelijke Liefde” en “De Yoga van Zelf-Perfectie”. Het materiaal werd voor het eerst in serie gepubliceerd in het maandblad Arya tussen 1914 en 1921; de Inleiding en de eerste twee delen werden later herzien door Sri Aurobindo voor publicatie.
